Marddi’s Process For Living Consciously

By Lifebook Member Marddi Rahn

Over the last eight weeks since I have attended my Lifebook session, I have been asked over and over, “What is Lifebook?” In the beginning, I wasn’t quite sure how to put into words. But after a couple of weeks, I simply explain it as a process you learn to live your life consciously.

Before Lifebook, I was like millions of others who just lived day to day without any real purpose or direction. I have wasted hundreds upon thousands of hours of my life. When you think about it, this is unfortunate because one never knows how many hours they have left to live.

Since Lifebook, I can honestly say that each and every day I have a purpose or a goal.

I may or may not achieve them, but I have a plan. I have a direction to get me to the next step in my life. I must say I waste a lot less time and have become much more productive member of society. Lifebook has helped me obtain a crystal clear vision on where I want my life to go and what steps I need to take to get there. That is my focus each day.

Everyday is a work in progress. But each day that I THINK about what I need to accomplish and set goals to accomplish them, I move closer to my vision. Even if I fall off track, I don’t get down on myself like I would before Lifebook. I brush it off and set my new goals for the next day. I don’t let one bad day get my whole life off course.

This is accomplished by the help of my husband. [Together] we do a nightly worksheet. It entails three things…

1) What we are grateful for that day
2) A mini day calendar so we know what is on the agenda for the next day
3) Things to accomplish.

This not only helps us focus on our vision for the next day, but it also helps us lift up what is good in our lives and be thankful to our Lord for what he has given us. It is also one of the ways we connect with each other on a deeper level, especially since we are not together each night. So it enhances our love relationship as it helps us become more aware of our day ahead.
