What Does Your Home Say About YOU?

If we were to knock on your front door RIGHT NOW, would you be embarrassed to let us in and give us a tour?

What does your home, as it really is, say about you as a person?

Does it make you proud?

As a Lifebook Member you understand the importance of your environments and the feedback loop they create. The qualities a space radiates can permeate every aspect of our lives.

If we live in a disorganized, hectic and stressful environment, our lives will be disorganized, hectic and stressful, because that is what we are surrounded by.

Likewise, if we are surrounded every day by beauty, tranquility and sensuality, our lives will literally be more beautiful, tranquil and sensual.

Our environments should be in perfect harmony with the people we want to be. Therefore, we must create environments that clearly project the values, moods and feelings that we want in our life on a continuous basis.

Here are “5 Tips To Transform Your Space” into a consciously designed expression of YOU:

1.  Create Recipes

Bring harmony to each of your spaces by projecting the values, moods and feelings you want in each of them. To do this, follow these 3 steps:

  1. Make a list of every room/environment you are looking to improve.
  2. For each space, list the values, moods and feelings you want it to radiate.
  3. For each value, list supporting colors, sounds, elements, materials, and décor that can bring it to life.

A finished “Recipe” might look like this:

Master Bedroom
Sensuality, Sophistication, Purity

Sensuality
• Scented candles
• Deep, rich colors
• Sexy photos/artwork
• Velvet, suede, leather, and other quality materials
• Music

Sophistication
• Dark woods or stones
• Sleek furniture
• Plant life (fresh flowers weekly, house plants, etc)

Purity
• Ultra-clean, dusted, shiny furniture and floors
• An un-cluttered energy (everything has a place)
• Air purifier (hidden out of plain sight)

2.  Remove Distractions

After creating your recipe for each environment, you will want to identify the existing contradictions in that space. For instance, if you’re trying to create a sensual or peaceful bedroom atmosphere, you probably shouldn’t put a TV or other stimulating electronics in the room. If you are trying to create harmony and tranquility in your living space, you probably need to find a place for the toys that are strewn about across the floor, and incoming mail covering the countertops. Make an “elimination” list for each of your spaces and work to slowly remove (or reorganize) the distractions from your environment.

3.  Find solutions

Once you have your elimination lists, you will want to set yourself up for success. Find simple solutions to your recurring problems and tackle them once and for all. Buy organizers, shelving, laundry hampers, filing systems and anything else you need to get (and stay) organized. They are not only an investment of space, but of time and energy for YEARS to come. Not to mention the sense of peace and harmony you get from knowing exactly where to find everything (and where to put it back).

4.  Establish Routines

Once you know what needs to go, and WHERE it needs to go, you will want to establish routines to ensure you’re following your own rules. If you want a consistently immaculate bedroom, you’re going to need to make a point to create that everyday. If you want clean countertops you’re going to need to start purging your mail as soon as it comes in the door, and filing the actionable items in a pre-organized place. SETTING UP an organized space is easy enough, but the real magic lies in MAINTAINING it.

5. Evolve With It

Evolution doesn’t happen all at once – it’s a process that unfolds as we learn and grow. If tearing your entire space up and reinventing it all in a week isn’t realistic for you, give yourself permission to be patient with your environment. Be conscious but selective and choose intimate items that mean something to you. Find pieces along your life journey and welcome them into your space to create memories and feelings that last a lifetime.
