Megan Cynowa’s Transformation

90 Day Transformation, Megan Cynowa

Everything in life is upstairs. Meaning every belief, action and change starts between the shoulders with our thoughts. The following breakdown shows the implementation of the theory of 1% over the course of 90 days. By making small changes a little at a time, over time, the gains add up. Of course this can work in the opposite direction as well, that is why positive affirmations and mental clarity in my vision has been imperative.

I did not start this challenge with a goal of losing weight or even a goal to have drastic change in my life. I began this challenge with a goal to wake up to the woman I am. A woman of great vitality, living a vitalistic existence w/in a vitalistic Universe. To wake up to beauty, embrace it, nurture it, give to it. Walk in nature. Spend time doing what I love: paddleboarding, climbing, surfing, run in the rain every now & then. To enjoy each & every piece of raw fruit & vegetable I put into my mouth & to allow whole foods to nourish my body. To let my mind be at one w/the energy around me & to create a deep connection w/nature & others. Was I successful? ABSOLUTELY!

The first thing I did was join the local climbing gym. I committed to climb every Wednesday night. After one month of climbing my upper back strength increased and after 90 days I am finally able to climb a 10a route (I started with 5 rated routes). Next, I began implementing weekly changes to my diet. Starting with having Absolute Organics deliver local, organic raw fruits and veges every other week. I progressed week by week by cutting out all of the following: dairy, caffeine, gluten, soy and alcohol. I implemented a 7 day juice cleanse as part of a challenge we completed in Rob’s office. I mixed it all up and never completely cut everything out at once. These were gradual (theory of 1%) changes made over the course of 90 days. It has been totally ok with me to not reach “Perfection” as one I don’t believe in it and two it has never been my goal. I am human and I enjoy pizza on occasion. There were days when I “Fell off the wagon,” but it was never a complete de-rail. Again, we are human and it is good to enjoy indulgences every now and then. Next on the list, I decided I would do some form of resistance training or weight training two times a week. I ordered a hula hoop, jump rope and medicine ball from amazon. I began implementing different resistance exercises with these three things. I then progressed to incorporating weight training and advanced ab work. I added 3 days of cardio to the mix. I mixed up my cardio. It consisted of walks outside, paddleboarding, wake surfing and runs. I never completed cardio inside with the exception of my climbing days because I always wanted to be outside in nature doing something I enjoyed. Each day that I completed a workout or a positive change I would mark it on my calendar. Each morning, I would look at my vision board, read my lifebook and check my calendar. This kept me focused. The biggest change of all is now I’m 2.5 months pregnant. There are no words to speak to the effects the last 90 days will have on our child. I have had to calm down on a few of my workouts, cut out the advanced ab work and make a few dietary shifts, but all in all both myself and my baby are living a vitalistic existence and I am the healthiest woman I’ve ever been.
